I just signed up for FanDuel. Its a great new legal sports gaming site for those who like to play fantasy football for money. The loophole for FanDuel is that the duration of the games are short term so they do not fall under the US gaming act. Which means you can fund your account with paypal or a credit card. No need to wire money to fund our gaming account.

So what is FanDuel you ask?
FanDuel is based on a salary cap gaming system. You set your lineup according to a salary cap system. Each roster position you select is equal to a salary cap worth value. After you will your roster you watch your games, root for your players, and collect when you win.

Prizes range from $5 head to head to up to $25,000 for some competitions. Its a great way to get your fix in for NFL sundays.

I just entered a game and it was pretty easy. It will take some football skill and knowledge. But it was simple and easy. It can get addictive and the payouts are great. Its like being your own general manager on Sunday. The good thing is you dont have to choose the same players every week. Every week is a new game and you choose new players every week. The games only last as long as the NFL week

Give it a try they have some good bonuses that gives you free credits when you signup for the first time.

Click here to signup for FanDuel today.

Oh yeah if you are a baseball, basketball, or hockey fan, they have fantasy sports games for those also.

According to the AP through league sourcces, Washington Redskins Coach Jim Zorn will be fired on Monday. No shocker here. The question is who will be the next coach of the Washington Redskins. Were going to miss Jim Zorn stumbling and fumbling through the press conferences the day after games or his positive attitude. Zorn’s football career maybe over, he may get picked up at a Division I college as an QB coach but the NFL? We saw all his flaws.

Oh Jim Zorn, why didnt you go for it on 4th down every time today against the Chargers. Why didnt you call one more razzle dazzle play on special teams.

Now the candidates to replace Zorn?

Mike Shanahan – most logical and Dan Snyder like, most likely. $50 Million….

John Gruden – Playing into Bruce Allen as GM, this is a logical choice. Gruden has to have an escape clause in his contract.

Urban Meyer – another Dan Snyder like pick. “Health conditions” or “I want out of my contract for NFL money?” Then you draft Tim Tebow? Please dont bother with this one.

Russ Grimm – bring back the Redskins legend who got snubbed several times?

Lets start the Zorn watch/countdown clock. Fire him on the plane ride back to DC Dan Snyder. We are going to miss the Zornism and oh the hip hip hooray he brought back last season. How soon we forget…..

Jim Zorn Classics:

I think John Riggins has shorted a wire. Riggins he hasnt gone crazy but something definitely is not right. Riggins will be Riggins, he’s always trying to get attention. Is Riggins bitter that he was cut by the Radio station that was taken over by Dan Snyder. Why such venom John Riggins against Dan Snyder?

In this video on Showtime’s Inside the NFL, John Riggins, a Washington Redskins lengend, calls Redskins owner Dan Snyder a “bad guy”.

John Riggins you do not speak for the fans. Go back to talking about football and not offer your commentary on ownership. James Brown brings up a good point, Riggo’s legacy will be tarnished by these 7 minutes and 32 seconds. That heroic run against the Dolphins in the Super Bowl will probably be forgotten. His legacy will be his remarks on this show. Dan Snyder, is it time to take Riggins off the Redskins Ring of Fame?

John Riggins stop fueling the fire and jumping on the fire. Because you are a Redskins legend, the fans will probably ride your coat tail and pile on to a blame game on Dan Snyder.

Chad Ochocinco released his new book today Chad Ochocinco: What Football and Life Have Thrown My Way. What better way to release a book if you are a football player, in the middle of the season. This is a second book, his had previously featured in a book called Chad: I cant be stopped. Kind of hard to do a US book tour, but I guess he can stop in his visiting cities to promote the book. Im not sure if there will be any shocking revelations, but the book does go into the locker-room and offers Ochocinco’s take. Whenever you have Ochocinco’s take it will be enteraining. Here is an excerpt description from Amazon.com:

The moment I walked out of that tunnel that first time I was in the NFL and saw that 70,000 people, I said, “This is me, this is mine, this is what I was meant to do.” Some people get scared that first time. Me? Scared my ass. I was loving it.

NFL superstar Chad Ochocinco is one of the most feared weapons in football, having amassed six consecutive 1,000-yard receiving seasons and made it to five straight Pro Bowls. And he does things his way–always big, always fun, always outrageous.

Take Ochocinco’s extravagant touchdown celebrations: performing the Riverdance jig, mock-proposing to a cheerleader, tossing presents into the crowd on Christmas Eve, performing CPR on the football, putting on a gold sport coat that says “Future Hall of Famer.” Or his sense of style: the blond Mohawk, the gold teeth, the nude photo shoot for a sports magazine. Or his trash-talking: People tell me I have to tone it down. Man, do you know what I’ve been through to get here? You’re going to tell me to stop having fun? Sorry, it’s not happening. Or his unabashed self-confidence: I got six paintings of myself in the living room of my town house in Cincinnati. Why? Because I love me. I’m great and I know it.

In Ocho Cinco, Chad offers his blunt take on his life and career and on the bizarre game–and business–of football. He takes us back to his days growing up in a poor, dangerous section of Miami, where he was raised by his stern grandmother: You want to know how I turned out like this? Don’t talk to me, talk to my grandmom. A high school quarterback, he went to two junior colleges before landing for a single year at Oregon State. From there he was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals, a team he eventually helped lead to the playoffs for the first time in fifteen years.

Ochocinco reveals what really goes on in the locker room, on the field, and in the clubs where so many of his fellow athletes get in trouble. He talks about fights with teammates, coaches, and owners. He offers his honest observations on drugs, cheating, and women: You get all this money and you get all these women at your disposal. . . . You’re going to do your thing, trust me. You’re going to do it. And he deals frankly with his reputation as a malcontent and drama king: People want to be entertained, but the minute you open up about it and have some fun, they bash you for it. They want you to play inside this little box, and if you ever dare step outside this little box you’re in trouble. Well, there is no box for me. I am completely out of the box.

Ocho Cinco gives fans a rare inside look at pro football, presented by a singular athlete who’s not afraid to speak his mind: What I do may be funny, but nothing I do is a joke.

The book cells on Amazon for $16.50:

Who is the worst team in the NFL….The Washington Redskins…is there any doubt? The Eagles will be hungry after an embarrassing loss to the Oakland Raiders, they go to FedEx Field to face the Washington Redskins on Monday night.

The Redskins cannot find the end zone averaging 13.2 points per game. The Eagles have no problem scoring, scoring 27.2 points per game. As we previously discuss, the Eagles have out scored opponents by 19, 20, 28 against teams similar to the Redskins, to have an against the spread (ATS) record of 3-2. In their last 13 games the Eagles are 9-4 ATS. On the road in their last 19 games, the Eagles are 13-6 ATS.

The Redskins are 1-4-2 ATS. Struggling at Quarterback, Running back, what else? Turmoil with coaching… what else? Can Sherman Lewis turn this team around coming in calling the plays in two weeks on the job? I doubt it. Look for plenty of mistakes by the Redskins. Total Chaos. It will be hard to watch. FedEx field is about 2 hours away from Philadelphia, this wont even be a home crowd.

You know where we are headed with this. Take the Eagles -7 – This is our 3 UNIT Stone Cold Lock of the Week.

Check out the rest of our Stone Cold Locks.

In Washington DC the Sports Talk Radio Stations, particularly 106.7 The Fan, callers all seem to be angry at one person Washington Redskins owner Dan Snyder. On the other station Sports Talk Radio 980, which is owned by Dan Snyder, Im not sure what the buzz is on that station regarding Snyder, but I bet you those calls are screened big time. I previously wrote a post that defended Dan Snyder and Washington Redskins front office management. How much is Dan Snyder involved? Is it really Snyder that is calling the shots or is it Vinny Cerrato. There is someone to blame. We wont know the truth because no on ever talks on the record about Snyder and management.

So I’ve decided to compile a list things that have happened since Dan Snyder has taken over the Washington Redskins. Call it the history of the Washington Redskins, the Dan Snyder era.

1999 – Snyder purchases the Redskins for $800 Million. Redskins make the playoffs.

1999 – Snyder fires Charlie Casserly after Casserly served 23 years with the Redskins, regarded as one of the NFL’s top executive and general managers at the time.

2000 – Three cash for clunkers are signed by the Redskins, Bruce Smith, Deion Sanders, and Mark Carrier. I consider all three as busts.

2000 – Drafts LaVar Arrington and Chris Samuels in the first round. Head coach Norv Turner is fired after going 7-6 in the month of December. Terry Robiskie is named interim coach.

2001 – Marty Schottenheimer hired as head coach. Redskins go 8-8. Schittenheimer is fired after the first season.

2002 – Steve Spurrier is hired as the head coach. Shane Matthews and Danny Wuerful are signed to fill the Quarterback slots, both are former University of Florida QBs who played under Spurrier. In that year Redskins draft Taylor Jacobs in the 2nd round, another University of Florida football player. Jacobs plays a total of 23 games for the Redskins in two seasons totaling 19 catches for 215 yards.

2002 – Redskins draft Patrick Ramsey with the 32nd overall pick.

2003 – Laveranues Coles signed as free agent.

2004 – Joe Gibbs hired as head coach.

2004 – Champ Bailey perhaps the top cornerback in the league at that moment for Clinton Portis.

2004 – Mark Brunell starts the season as the starting QB.

2004 – Sean Taylor and Chris Cooley drafted.

2005 – Laveraneus Coles traded to New York Jets for Santana Moss.

2005 – Free agent signings – Casey Rabach and David Patten.

2005 – Carlos Rogers drafted in first round.

2005 – Multiple draft picks traded away to draft Jason Campbell in the first round.

2006 – Al Saunders hired by Gibbs as an associate head coach.

2006 – Signs free agents – Adam Archuleta and Brandon Lloyd.

2007 – London Fletcher is signed as free agent.

2007 – Fred Smooth signs as a free agent.

2007 – LaRon Landry drafted in first round.

2008 – Joe Gibbs retires.

2008 – Gregg Williams and Al Saunders fired.

2008 – Jim Zorn hired as head coach.

Of all these headlines, you can say the there were a few success stories but not many. The drafting of LaVar Arrington, Chris Samuels, Chris Cooley, and Sean Taylor were good moves at the time. Arrington was released and is now tired. Although Arrington was considered a traitor for signing with the New York Giants, he is now respected in the community as a radio talk show host. Chris Samuels some say is overrated but he has made it to several pro bowls and is probably one of the longest tenured Redskins. Chris Cooley, the jury is still out. No one has questioned Cooley’s ability, although Cooley’s pass blocking ability has been questioned. Cooley remains a fan favorite. Sean Taylor, we don’t know how it would have gone for Taylor. Taylor could have bailed through free agency or stayed with the team. Other signings such as Santana Moss, Fred Smoot, Jason Campbell, Carlos Rogers, etc… are considered busts in my book. So I cant really defend Snyder, but was it really Snyder’s deep pocks and influence or was it a Vinny Cerato call. These are just a handful, Im sure I am missing more, blunders if you can call it that. Other questionable are the hiring of Pepper Rogers, Sherman Lewis, interviewing Jim Fassel with no intention of hiring him.

So far this week, there have been many rumblings about boycotting the Redskins:

John Feinstien of the Washington Post – Calls for Boycott

BuyoutSnyder.com

FanExodus.com

Petition for Diamond dealer Ronnie Mervis to buy the Redskins

Folks get over it. Dan Snyder is only 44, he will be the owner of the Washington Redskins for a while. Like a said before. Stay loyal and support your team. You hope that eventually something will go right for the team. Boycott if you have to. Stop buying jerseys, tail gating, attending games, etc… but you can still go to a bar or watch the game from you home and root for the team (in shame).

After four weeks into the season we examine the 2009-2010 NFC Championship Odds. Looks look at the favorites from Bodog Sports Odds.

Chicago Bears – 6/1

Philadelphia Eagles – 7/1

New York Giants – 7/2

Atlanta Falcons – 10/1

Dallas Cowboys 12/1

Minnesota Vikings 10/3

New Orleans Saints – 11/4

Arizona Cardinals 16/1

San Francisco 49ers – 12/1

The NFC is not as clear cut as the AFC Championship Odds. The top teams consists of team that have endured injuries or have not performed up to par. It does recognize teams that have show strong performances. I like the New York Giants 7/1, Minnesota Vikings 10/3, and New Orleans Saints 11/4 at this point, these are my top 3. Sleepers, not too many sleepers here in the NFC. The Atlanta Falcons could perhaps be a sleeper at 10/1. The 49ers look to be a contender after four weeks. But after those five teams it is hard to tell. Injuries to Donovan McNaab and Brian Westbrook has hurt the Eagles. The Cowboys are not who we thought they were. The Cardinals still need a little work, but the can be a second sleeper at 16/1.

At Week 4 of the 2009-2010 NFL season, The Stone Cold Lock examines the odds to win the 2009-2010 AFC Championship from the odds from Bodog. Here are the teams that are at the top of the table:

Baltimore Ravens – 3/1

Indianapolis Colts – 9/2

New England Patriots – 5/2

Pittsburgh Steelers – 6/1

San Diego Chargers – 4/1

I like the Ravens, Colts, and Steelers. I think the more weaker teams of these teams are the Chargers and the Patriots. Time will tell if Tom Brady can get his rhythm back and if the Patriots can be the team that will win 11 to 12 games for you. If this team gets in sync and starts to blow teams out then look for their odds to increase, but for now I would stay away from the Patriots. Given the track record Norv Turner I would also exclude the Chargers from the elite group. I do know that the Chargers can ride Philip Rivers. With a busted offensive line and a busted LaDanian Tomlinson, stay away from the Chargers.

Out of the Ravens, Colts, and Steelers, I would take narrow it down to the Ravens and Colts. Take a chance with those two if you were to place a wager. Are there any sleepers? There is one sleeper….the New York Jets (13/2). If Mark Sanchez can maintain his level of play and not make mistakes, the Jets can make a playoff run. Can they compete with the “big 3”? The odds are against them based on the level of play of the Ravens, Colts, and Steelers at the moment. They have three proven leaders in Joe Flacco, Peyton Manning, and Ben Roethlisberger. Check back next week as we examine the odds for the NFC Championship.

Peyton Manning is going into his 9th season in the NFL and he is still the king of NFL Quarterbacks. I would take Peyton Manning over any QB at the moment, even a red hot Drew Brees. Looking at the Top 10 QB ratings:

1.	Drew Brees
2.	Peyton Manning
3.	Brodie Croyle
4.	Eli Manning
5.	Bruce Gradkowski
6.	Matt Shcaub
7.	Joe Flacco
8.	Matt Ryan
9.	Aaron Rodgers
10.	Brett Favre

Looking at the list of this season top QBs, no one even compares to Manning with the exception of Brees. Brett Favre at the 10 spot after week 3, I would take Manning over Favre in any season in both of their careers.

In the game against the Miami Dolphins Manning showed poise and not panic as he led his team to the victory. Even without Marvin Harrison and an injured Anthony Gonzales, Manning was able to get the ball to Pierre Garcon for the win. That is what champions do. Completing 80% of his passes so far, and averaging around 300+ passing yards per game and don’t forget the six touchdowns. It only gets easier for Manning and the Colts facing the Tennessee Titans, St Louis Rams, San Francisco 49ers, and Houston Texans in the next coming weeks. Manning could have a field day and the Colts could be 8-0 before they face the New England Patriots.
