NFL Week 9 Stone Cold Lock of the Week Redskins vs Falcons

November 5, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

We are glad that the Washington Redskins are back from their bye week to face the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons we thought were contenders this year however they have gone through some tough losses. The Falcons let one get away last week against the Saints.

Surprisingly if you look at the matchup, the Redskins are still a nice defensive team, holding teams to 283.5 yards per game. Sure defenses can wins games, but you get more chances to score on offense. The Redskins can hardly move the ball and a new play caller didn’t help two weeks ago against the Eagles. The Redskins averaging 13.7 points per game probably wont score more than 10 points.

Look for Michael Turner to run all over the Redskins. Matt Ryan should be able to take advantage of the Redskins’ suspect secondary. The Stone Cold Lock still doesn’t believe that the secondary of DeAngelo Hall, Carlos Rogers, and Fred Smoot can contain Matt Ryan.

What about the trends you ask? Well the Redskins are 1-5-1 this season, they haven’t scored more than 17 points this season. Which means the Falcons will have to score at least 27.  We would say tease it if you can, but I think the Falcons will score 30+ this week.

Our Stone Cold Lock of Week 9 – Take the Falcons -10 – LOCK IT UP – 4 UNITS.
