Vintage Brett Favre

Flip flopper, retired/unretired, Packer/Jet/Viking, wrangler commercials… who cares.  It’s Brett Favre, the greatest QB of our era.  He may no longer throw for 350 yards and 4 TDs but he going to win you football games.  The truth is, he no longer needs to single handedly win football games.  The Vikings brought him in to replace a inept Tarvaris Jackson.  Tarvaris Jackson should not be a NFL starting QB. He’s just not very good.  Favre was brought in to manage football games and NOT lose football games.  Just his presence in the game should help the Vikings win 2-3 games that they would otherwise have lost with Jackson.  Those 2-3 games are huge considering that could be the difference of an away game in the playoffs to a bye team in the NFC.   I see the Vikings finishing the season at 12-4 or 13-3.  They play in a relatively weak NFC North division where you can already jot up two wins against Detroit.   They have a handful of tough games against Baltimore, Pitt, @GB and home against the Giants in week 17.  The rest of the schedule is a piece of cake.   With an all star RB in Adrian Peterson, a stout defense and a legend like Favre at QB, it’s almost a stone cold lock that the Vikings will get a bye in the playoffs.
